Melvin L. Bell is the Lead Pastor at Purpose Community Church. However, the title that describes him most clearly is servant leader. True servant leadership is not easy and often unseen, but Pastor Melvin has learned over the years that its effect is far reaching and long lasting.

Family & Experience

A devoted husband to Quinn and father of two beautiful daughters, Pastor Melvin has spent the last 20 years coaching leaders in the nonprofit sector and mentoring young men. He has traveled across the country speaking on topics of leadership and personal development. He speaks with passion which allows him to connect with his audience and move them to action. His coaching skills are in great demand because he makes himself fully available and asks the insightful questions which lead to his clients advancing to the next level in their professions and business.

Education & Career

Pastor Melvin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, a Master of Theology degree, and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree. He has served as the Senior Vice President and top sales agent at one of the nation’s largest insurance and investment firms. He believes transforming the lives of individuals is essential when aiming to transform our communities and our society – and that passion and those values also led him to join the John Maxwell Team as a coach, speaker and trainer. Pastor Melvin is the author of the new book, Why Am I Here? Practical Steps to Discovering Your Purpose.
